His assignment as the Country Manager started with Oman International Bank (Subsequently renamed as HSBC Bank Oman due to a merger process) in India where he held the top position for 14 years at a stretch from the year 2000. This was followed by his stint as a Country Manager in India in Doha Bank till 2017.

He had turned around loss making foreign bank into profits.
He is a firm believer in resolution and recovery of stressed NPLs and had recovered substantial amounts GCC Banks in India by adopting a practical and result oriented approach.
In his final stint with a Qatar based bank in India, he was instrumental in strategizing legal actions in consultation with law firms against the defaulters who skipped GCC countries but are running businesses in India.
He always ensured that the actions initiated in remedial management are perfectly legal and within the regulatory guidelines in India.
With his experience of a banker he was able to understand the intricacies and problems faced by the borrowers and often strategised and formulated action plans which was suitable to banks as well as borrowers. He firmly believes that borrowers need to sustain themselves profitably in their business as then only they can reduce their debts.
